The idea of "The Crowd" is to be a centralized platform for distributing and redeeming venue generated rewards. Venue managers will choose to generate a reward pool to draw people into their venues. A good parallel is coupon cards for a cafe, but digitized and can be shared on social media to grow awareness of reward campaigns.

All registered members are users, but some users can elect to represent a vendor (for example, the manager of a restaurant). This vendor-enrolled user (referred to as vendor) can then create a promotion campaign and delegate users to promote the campaign. These delegated promoters (referred to as promoters) then advertise their unique referral codes to be consumed by other users, or signal boosted to a network. The referral itself is a QR code which can then be scanned by QR-enabled camera apps by vendors employees (this is done outside of the app) for a benefit from the vendor (for example, a discounted meal). After a QR code is scanned, the initial promoter will gain a small amount of points/credits for inviting a user who engages with the promotion.
